Respite for the the stir crazy...

So I have been nesting a lot, as you know from my last post but today I was feeling a little stir crazy and wanted to do something fun. So I took my son and his cousins to the "Bean Museum" up on BYU campus. I told them if they were good then we could come back home and make some yummy chocolate chip cookies. They were pretty good, and it was so fun to see them going to each of the different exhibits. Josh was on a kick of asking "is this animal dangerous?" at every new animal that he saw. Little Brooklyn was asking "what's this?, what's this?" It didn't take very long to see what was there...for the average attention span of a 3 year old. :D and then I let them play in the children's room where they have toys of all different animals etc. Then we cleaned up and went home. I put Brooklyn down for a nap and then we made cookies together. It was interesting trying to make sure everyone got an equal turn at helping. Its really nice when the kids are good and cooperative. I've felt really blessed to have such a great relationship with Blaine and Nicole's kids. I wish I had the same opportunity with the rest of my nieces and nephews. I love them all! Here's some fun pictures I got of them.

Feeling Better

I don't know if all my "nesting" finally caught up with me or what, but yesterday I felt like a truck hit me. I could hardly function because I was SO exhausted. So I took the day off and relaxed and then tried to get a good night's sleep last night and so this morning I'm feeling a TON better! (Gotta love my english eh?) So Josh was my good little helper this morning in picking up and dusting and vacuuming. Ya know, I wouldn't have "planned" to have my kids so many years apart but its definitely going to have its advantages! He's such a great kid! He loved dusting this morning. It was really cute.

So I had my Dr's appt last Friday and I've only gained 9 lbs! Wahoo! So I'm right on track. I need to eat more fruits and veggies though! I've been eating way too many starches. Anyway...I'm so excited to have my little girl! She's very active. I think she's going to be like her brother...always on the go! Josh loves to talk to her. Its so adorable. I'm already starting to see that your love for your children isn't divided...its multiplied!

The smartest son...ever!

So here it is my day, my birthday today and I am trying to go onto my new computer and get the blog to work. I am going through on the blog, trying to get the music to play. Josh says, click on this and then it will work. So I click on it and it does work, so a four year old knows more than his very computer literate 35 yr old father. Oh well, I guess that we are going to have to work hard at keeping ahead of him. I really had to laugh at his proficiency. I love this little guy!

Happy Birthday Jason!

Happy Birthday Sweetheart! I am so thankful to be able to celebrate your day with you! You are an amazing husband, wonderful father and best friend! Thank you for making my life so full and rewarding. You are so loving and kind, patient, funny, sweet, caring, understanding, sensitive, hard working, playful, great dad, forgiving, and inspiring. I'm so grateful for the challenges that we've overcome. I believe in you and I believe in us. Thank you for believing in me. I pray that I will get to celebrate another 50 or more birthdays with you. :D I love you!

Love, Your SLP

This is the letter that Josh had me write for Jason:
Dear Daddy,

Thanks for doing stuff I want you to do. I like to play with you. I love you and like spending time with you every day. I like to snuggle with you. Thank you for going to work and for giving tithing to the bishop. Thank you for my toys.

Love, Joshua

This is what Josh and I gave Jason for his b-day. I asked Josh what words he would use to describe Jason and then what he liked to do with him. So I drew the pictures for him and let Josh paint it. -The pencil drawing was done by a lady in our ward. I was VERY pleased! She's very
talented. I gave her my fav pic of me and Josh to do. Jason LOVED it! I put the picture of the original up just so you can see how good she is. :D

Presenting..."Josh, The New Superstar Raquetball Player"...:D

Jason and I have been debating whether to get a season pass at our local Rec Center. I had one there when I was pregnant with Josh because I loved the deep water aerobics class. Jason has
been wanting to play Raquet ball to help get some better mobility and strength in his shoulder.
So we decided to go last night for FHE and teach Josh how to play raquetball. I'm not sure how you are with your own kids, but seriously sometimes Josh just puts me in Awe! He's very coordinated and he picked up how to hit the ball really quickly. It was a fantastic evening that we all enjoyed. When Josh wanted to take a little break Jason and I would play a quick game to 7. Hahaha...yeah, this Mama is a slow mover. I really just had to laugh at myself, especially adjusting to the "center of gravity" change that is occuring. ;D The evening for me was one of those euphoric type times where you know you want to remember this...and keep coming back to it because it was so great for the entire family. I loved watching Jason show him how to play. I think we'll be going on a regular basis! Usually when asking Josh how he liked things, or a particular event its usually a "good". Last night his response was "I LOVED it!"

Can I just say, I'm so thankful for my beautiful family! I'm so grateful to be so closely involved with such incredible people. I'm so grateful for this beautiful little girl growing inside of me! I am so blessed! Anyway....here's some fun video clips/pics of us playing. Hope you enjoy them.

Visit from a great friend!

We had a pleasant surprise today when our friend Eddie came to visit us. He's from Missouri so every now and again when he makes it back out to Utah he'll call and come and visit! Its always great to see him! He was one of Jason's groomsmen. They had a great time together @ Ricks. Anyway we love it when friends come into town. We're so grateful for the wonderful friends we've made through out the years. Its always great to catch up and rekindle the relationship!

-Funny side note about the visit, while we were eating dinner, Josh was talking to Eddie and he said when I'm old....like him (pointing to Jason)...I'm going to get married. We got a good laugh out of it. Josh was trying to figure out what he said that was so funny. So Jason must be officially OLD!...atleast in the mind of a 4 year old. LOL

What a wonderful Christmas!!

Christmas morning this year was spent in our own cozy little home with just the three of us. Having only a 4 year old, we finally had to wake Josh up @ 9:45am. (LOL) -It took some coaxing at that! (Mind you my mom had already called @ 8:30a wondering when we were going to open up our envelopes! haha) But it was worth the wait. Jason had the camera going as Josh and I walked into the front room. Can we say "eyes all aglow"?! It was so sweet. Josh then got to open his gifts. This has been the funniest year yet! His reactions were hilarious! Afterwards we spent the day being lazy and in the evening went over to spend the night at my sister's. The night before we had been to her place as well. It was a funfilled week! We got to see a lot of family and friends. I'm just sad that its over! I think next year, we'll start earlier and really get Josh involved in serving others and helping him recognize the blessings he has. Maybe we'll just make it a "New Year of Service"! He's at a wonderful age where service is still fun for him. :D

Anyway, hope that you all felt the wonderful spirit of Christ in your lives and may it emanate through out 2009!
